A complete reimagination of the onboarding email funnel that turned new signups into activated, long-term users.

The challenge

NovaTech's SaaS product had strong signup numbers, but too many users churned within the first 14 days. The existing onboarding email sequence was generic, text-heavy, and didn't guide users toward the "aha" moment. The goal was to rewrite and restructure the entire email funnel to drive activation and reduce early-stage churn.

🔍 Discovery

Analysed user behaviour data to identify drop-off points in the onboarding flow. Mapped the ideal customer journey and identified key milestones that correlated with long-term retention.

✍️ Strategy

Designed a 7-email onboarding sequence with behavioural triggers and personalisation. Each email had a specific goal: welcome, educate, showcase value, overcome objections, and drive activation.

📧 Execution

Wrote and designed the full sequence using a friendly, benefit-driven tone. A/B tested subject lines, CTAs, and send timing. Integrated product usage data to trigger conditional email paths.
